Note from the Festival Lead: I know I don’t have to remind all of our participants of the vital importance of adhering to social distancing policies right now, but I’ve also heard arguments that we should be describing our current, isolated condition as physical distancing rather than social distancing, and I agree! Keeping a safe distance from one another physically doesn’t mean we can’t be as social as ever on social media, and I’m betting the success of the whole festival on the idea that we are just as capable of social connection now as we have ever been.
Below is a series of links to daily challenges and participation prompts for the first week of the festival. (second week coming soon.) At each link, you will find several participation prompts that you can engage with in a variety of ways. Create art! Create videos! Express your thoughts in writing! Make a spaghetti sculpture if the spirit moves you! Just don’t be afraid to share what you make on your own social media, and tag or categorize it according to the daily instructions so that all of our participants can connect with one another all over the city (and the world!) from the safety of their own homes.
Have fun, be creative, reach out, and get connected!
